God is the sovereign ruler and salvation comes from him alone, so looking for safety and salvation outside God, does not lead anywhere.
As we approach the New Year, it is always a tradition in the Christian community to start looking for the nearest prophetic conference, and this all good. It is good to hear what our Father is saying to the rest of the saints, either as a way of confirming what he has said to you. Perhaps you wonder He has not really said anything to you or He has and you wonder if it was really Hm.
We want to hear what the Lord is saying about the year 2013; we want to know what he saying to us as individuals, family, state and nation, or nations. We all want to know what the Father is saying to us and as the body of Christ in regards to the year 2013, given the fact we are living in very difficult times. There is so much uncertainty facing us, unpredictable weather changes, earthquakes, and rumors of nuclear wars among others. Some of us feel like we know what He is saying even before He talks to us, but that may not necessarily be true. What you and I have imagined and even wished He could say might be totally untrue. After all He says in his word, ‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight”
(Proverbs 3:6)
If you are accustomed to practicing the presence of the Father or living with the awareness of His presence, you will find out that God is so amazing, because He can be fun but yet firm in what He says to us. I am not sure why He is so simple or He speaks to us the way He does even when we are in trouble or even when we think He is mad at us. God is still is so gentle, confident and bold in who He is and what He says. For the coming year He first wants us to know that He loves His people and He cares. These words were very clear from the Father. Every time I asked what about what is going on in the world today He said, “Tell my people I love them. Tell my people I care. And in returning to me and my rest is their salvation, and in trusting in me they will find strength”. God clearly said that we will be victorious in 2013 if we do these things: return, rest and trust in Him. In Isaiah 30:15, God was telling his servant why the destruction came over His people. God had warned them of things to come, and told them what they were to do to avoid destruction, but they did not yield to the words of the Lord. Prophet Isaiah who has been called “the Shakespeare of prophets and the Mount Everest of the Hebrew prophecy” develops the theme contained in the meaning of his own name “Yahweh is salvation.” The word salvation appears in Isaiah twenty six times, in contrast to the seven times in all other prophets combined. He is marked as an intelligent and well educated man who frequented the royal court in Jerusalem. As he stood before kings such as Uzziah, Ahaz, Jotham and Hezekiah he eloquently warned them of the foolishness of making allegiances with foreign powers rather than trusting in God to protect and deliver them. Tradition says that because of his message, he was cut into two early in the reign of the evil king Manasseh.
God is still warning His children not to make alliances with powers of darkness (World). He wants us to return to Him in repentance. If there are areas in your Christian walk that you have failed Him or fallen short of His glory, return to Him, repent and be reconciled to Him. He wants you for Himself because He loves you and cares about you. If He did not care He could not have said these words. He is not condemning you, but He loves us enough to tell us how not to fall into any destruction that is ahead of us. In the coming year, 2013 resting in Him will be crucial because there will be seasons and times of increased restlessness, as we see different things happen worldwide and not knowing the outcome. The inability to predict our future and what is going to happen will drive many into restlessness. However, our Father has already given us a way out, to rest in Him. Resting in Him is the ability to see, know and be aware of all that is happening and is to come, but have this confidence in you “the lord is in control of all things, and so I have peace.” Resting in him is the unshakable knowledge that no powers other than His power will deliver us from the impending dangers that are bound to come in the year 2013. With this in mind we then
calmly position ourselves to depend on God for assistance, and not seeking the alliance of dark powers or the world. In Exodus 33:14, God speaking to Moses said, “My presence will go with you and I will give you rest”. Also in your free time you can read more on spiritual rest in Psalm 23:2, Psalm 55:6, Psalm 94:13, Psalm 116:7, Isaiah14:3; Isaiah 28:12, Isaiah 30:15, Isaiah 63:14, Jeremiah 6:16, Ezekiel 34:15; Matthew 11:29; Romans 15:32; 2 Timothy 1:7; Hebrews 4:1,3,9; and Revelation 14:13.
What about in “quietness” or “stillness”? Stillness this is an essential attribute or discipline for instruction. What does that mean? God speaks to us “in a collected, quiet state of mind”. It is absolutely impossible to hear the instructions of our God if our minds are not quieted towards him (See, for example,. Exodus 14:13; Numbers 9:8; Jude 7:21; 1 Samuel 9:7; 12:712:16; 2 Chronicles 20:17; Nehemiah 8:11, Job 37:14, Psalm 4:4; Psalm 37:7; Psalm 46:10; Psalm 62:1; Ecclesiastes 5:2; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 23:2; Isaiah 30:15; Isaiah 41:11). I have found out that the best way to have a collected mind and quietness is by being constantly aware of His presence in us, around us and all around us, and being aware that we are carrying His presence all the time. His presence does not leave when we lie down to rest or sleep, or when we are in certain atmospheres, because His presence in us commands change into any atmosphere we walk into. His presence in our lives destroys wickedness, so to bring glory to His name. When His presence is practiced and lived as a lifestyle, when it comes upon sickness, healing takes place. When His presence gets in contact with a broken and wounded spirit, healing takes place and the captive is set free. I strongly believe that we shall see great things happen on earth as it relates to the kingdom of God in the coming year as we learn to walk in his presence. We will see great supernatural happenings that will bring a harvest into the body of Christ as we allow his presence in us to do the work. We must choose to be carriers of his glory, and not the ones working to bring the glory. Regardless of what situation or circumstances that may or will a rise in 2013, let His presence in your life handle it. Just call upon him and ask for His presence over the very problem you encounter. You might ask, ‘is it that simple’. The answer is ‘Yes!’ His word is simple and His instructions are simple to those who have an ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the church.
The very first thing we need to do is to fully accept that we are children of the highest God, and that He calls us his own. He desires us, and our fellowship and worship. You cannot be completely or fully aware of His presence if you doubt or have not accepted yourself as being one with the Father. This is because lack of acceptance is always accompanied by guilt, condemnation, self rejection, feelings of unworthiness, hopelessness, fear, anxiety, and panic. Remember what you fear you give power to and who you have faith in gives him power over you. So you cannot walk with the Father throughout the day if you think He has not accepted you fully as His child. His presence brings increased awareness of His glory around you. If the enemy tells you that you have not been forgiven, remind him that you have been forgiven. Also make it a habit or a practice of asking for forgiveness for any sin committed, knowingly or unknowingly each day or immediately the spirit of God convicts you of any shortcoming. If the devil condemns you, just refer him to Romans 8:1.
Remind the devil that with the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Also remind him that those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death. (The Message Bible) It is very important to speak the word of God back to the deceiver, Lucifer when he tries to interrupt the flow of the peace ad your fellowship with the Father, let him know that you follow the decrees of the Lord faithfully and keep His laws and because of that you are righteous; and will surely live, declares the Sovereign LORD.
Lastly in confidence, that is, by putting simple trust in God. This means that God shall be your strength. As a result, you shall be safe and your enemies shall not be able to overcome and subdue you. Friend, this is good news that trusting in our God we will have strength. In hard times, trust in the Lord. This means that you do not put your trust in anything or anyone else other than God. Do not put your trust in the Mammon god (money), in the stock market, in military power, in physical strength, or power of witchcraft. There is only one power that will overcome for you and that is the power of God that comes from trusting in Him. Hence David said “I will praise the LORD at all times. I will constantly speak His praises.” And Exodus 15:2 says, “The LORD is my strength and song, and He is become my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare Him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt Him”.
The year 2013 will be filled with challenges and great trials, but our Father assures us that He loves us and He cares about every small detail in our lives.
It is my prayer that as you read this article that the spirit of God takes over your life and positions you for victory for the coming year. May the love of our father surround you this Holiday Season. May the peace of God come over you and cover you, for the glory of God.
