President Uhuru’s nephew to be buried Friday

NAIROBI Kenya, Sept 27 – President Uhuru Kenyatta’s nephew will be buried on Friday at his rural home in Ichaweri village in Gatundu, Kiambu County.

Mbugua Mwangi and his fiancée will be buried together after a church service at Nairobi Chapel.

“The two cannot be separated…they died united in love,” one of Mwangi’s cousin identified as Ngina stated.

The couple died during the Westgate mall attack. Sixty seven people were killed during the terror attack and more than 200 other people injured.

Mwangi is the son to Catherine Mwangi, a sister to nominated Senator Beth Mugo and former politician Ngengi Muigai who are first cousins of the president.

Speaking during a church service to honour their memories at St Andrews Church on Thursday, Raila Odinga Jr, the son of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, described Mwangi as a great and humble person.

“I remember when he took me to Western Kenya – to visit my wife’s home, girls fell in love with him because of his unending smile and great charisma,” he said making the sad congregation to smile.

Senate Deputy Speaker Kembi Gitura condemned the act saying that they were going to enact laws that will ensure the act never occurs again.

President Kenyatta expressing his sentiments after the tragic incident said, “I feel the pain of every life we have lost, and share your grief at our nation’s loss.”

He called his slain relatives “young, lovely people I personally knew and loved.”-capitalfm.co.ke
