ngilu-picDirector of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko has directed that suspended Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu be charged with obstructing investigations into fraudulent transactions in her ministry.

The CS allegedly directed officers in the ministry not to release documents to investigators from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

It is also alleged that she further directed the same officials not to record statements with EACC investigators.

In a statement, Mr Tobiko said that the recommendation by EACC to charge Mrs Ngilu with the said offence was sustainable.

“Having reviewed the evidence, I am satisfied that the recommended charge is sustainable.
