Jubilee to name more William Ruto ICC fixers

ruto-picTHE Jubilee Coalition has vowed to name more officials who allegedly fixed Deputy President William Ruto at the International Criminal Court.

Jubilee MPs yesterday said they will spill more beans during their next two prayer rallies for the DP in Rift Valley and Eastern.

According to Majority Leader Aden Duale, the coalition will hold a rally at Kabartonjo, Baringo county, this weekend and the next one is set for Meru county.

Duale announced that the leaders support Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria’s claim about the alleged pretrial fixing of Ruto by some politicians and bureaucrats through the ICC and promised that more names will be revealed.

“This weekend, we are going to have another prayer meeting for the Deputy President – at Kabartonjo in Baringo county – and we are again going to mention more senior people linked to coaching of the ICC witnesses,” Duale said on Thursday.

His sentiments were shared by Kericho Senator Charles Keter, a close ally of Ruto’s, who indicated that they will also continue pushing for the Waki Report to be discussed in Parliament.

“We want the truth to be told. Kuria has said what he knows. If you know something, come out as soon as possible before someone names you,” he said.

Kuria named Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, Cord leader Raila Odinga and Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o as some of those behind Ruto’s ICC woes.

They have however denied the claims, with Karua swiftly suing Kuria. The ICC has already written to Kuria, seeking an interview over the fixing claims.

The Star has established that the Jubilee Coalition has decided to use political platforms to fight the ICC, including discrediting the court’s investigations.

The Jubilee plan is to show that the court never investigated the post-election violence, but was used to settle political scores.

Duale also said that while he was the vice- chairman of ODM in charge of political affairs, he wrote a letter to the President of the UN Security Council disputing another letter by Nyongo’ challenging the referral of the cases that faced six Kenyans identified by former ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo.

“Anyang’ Nyong’o wrote a letter and the rest of us who had rebelled wrote a counter to it. What we are saying is not from nowhere. The die is cast and the owners of Project ICC are known,” Duale declared.

He said that he is unable to trace the letter, but has asked Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the UN to help him access a copy.

“This country needs lasting healing and those mentioned should come out and join us in telling the world that the cases at the ICC are political and that they were just politics between the Party of National Unity and ODM,” Duale said.

“Did you know that for some witnesses who testified or gave a statement to the Waki Commission, the monies for their witness protection were being disbursed by Mutea Iringo and Nancy Gitau?” Ruto’s lawyer Shyamala Alagendra asked a prosecution witness in 2013.
