Georgian club FC Saburtalo has signed promising Kenyan midfielder Flavious Chamla on a one year renewable deal and he will be featuring for the club’s youth team.

The 17-year-old, who left the country last month for trials at Belgian side Standard Liege but later crossed over to Georgia, put pen to paper at the club offices in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia on Thursday 5 November.

In a one on one with Soka, the youngster revealed his elation at completing the move and said he is ready to work for his place.

“I really thank God for having signed for FC Saburtalo. It’s up to me to prove everyday so that everything can work out well. I am happy to get such a platform to develop my career.

“I must thank everybody who has been there for me and the club as well for giving me the chance. I look forward to working extra and extra hard to match the standards here,” the former Laiser Hill captain toldSoka from his base in Tbilisi.

About FC Saburtalo

FC Saburtalo is one of the big clubs in Georgia and hosts their matches at Bendela Stadium. Their youth team comprises of U15 and U19 players featuring in the 16-team youth league, known as the National Championship XI.

The club currently sits eighth on the log with 14 points from ten rounds, ten behind leaders Dila Res. The team is coached by 34-year-old Georgian Revaz Gotsiridze and plays Kolkheti on Saturday 7 November in a Game Week 11 at Bendela Stadium.

Chamla leaves Kenya having captained his former school, Laiser Hill to the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) finals in Machakos, losing to Passenga School in the final but progressed to the East Africa School games in Rwanda where his team, finished third in Pool B, Chamla scoring a goal in three games.
