Miguna Miguna hinted at running for governor in the 2017 general poll in a TV interview in which he said Nairobi’s Evans Kidero will not stay in office.
Miguna, who is Cord leader Raila Odinga’s former aide, said the members of the public sometimes try to elect new leaders but those in power fight against this.
“Sometimes they try but these leaders conspire against them. The cartels are the ones that we are taking to Kamiti Maximum Security Prison, and I think we should,” he said.
“I may be in one of these races. If Kenyans are ready to wake up they could easily elect me,” he further said on KTN’s Jeff Koinange Live show on Wednesday. But he added “they looted and have money I do not have”.
Miguna lashed out at former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru who could run for the the Nairobi Governor seat saying “come, baby, come”.
“Let her come and bring the money that disappeared. Come, baby, come. I know Kidero is going home, take my word… remember today… What is the date? Remember this next year [sic],” he said.
Waiguru resigned on November 21, 2015 amid allegations of corruption at the National Youth Service and the Devolution ministry.
Citing reports of illegal trade in sugar and charcoal by the Kenya Defence Forces, Miguna accused institutions of governance of involvement in corruption .

“Institutions of governance have broken down… police, intelligence and the military. You heard of ‘white and black done’ by Journalists for Justice?” he posed.
“When you go the judiciary, the government and the devolved government, the looting spree is unprecedented.”
Miguna said a time will come for the rampant corruption cases to end as “nothing lasts forever”.
“Even the sheep can rebel, if we use the allegory of the animal farm, and these animals are like
established that the Nairobi Governor race is turning crowded for Jubilee as more aspirants prepare to seek the ruling party’s ticket for the position.
Seeking the party’s ticket are former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru, Senator Mike Sonko, Kidero and Harun Mwau.
