Vava Angwenyi is the founder and CEO of Vava Coffee, who refers to herself as ‘Chief Coffaholic’ She is also a former diaspora member having done her undergrad studies in Canada, for her Bachelors in Actuarial Science and Statistics.In fact, it was while in Canada where she came up with the idea of setting up a coffee company in Kenya.
It is based on her experience in the diaspora and also being on the ground in Kenya, starting and running a business, that she has strong feelings about the investment habits of the Kenyan diaspora.
She feels that most just want to send the money home, but not get their hands dirty in the business world. “Alot of Kenyans in the diaspora do this thing where they just send money back home, and expect magic is going to happen back home and they never set foot in those businesses, and when you go home there is no business, nothing!”
She urged that the Kenyan diaspora should get out of their comfort zone, and put in the work. She felt they should take time off their work, to go run their businesses, and if it was hard to take time off, quit the job and go home. “People do not realize how taxing running your own business is” she says.
She notes, that the most successful diaspora people she knows, have had to quit their jobs and gone back home, where they have led either a life of hard ship for a few months, or either lose everything or lose money and then make money…..”I think you come out a much better person.”

I agree with her fully sending money and trusting people to do magic for you is being unrealistic .U must be willing to go a step ahead and risk in order to make it as an entrepreneur
