Corridor of power: Are Kalonzo Musyoka and Wetang’ula plotting to dump Raila ?

Are Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang’ula plotting to dump their co-principal and Cord leader Raila Odinga before the 2017 polls if he insists on being the flagbearer? Corridors has been told Wetang’ula and Kalonzo are no longer going to back Odinga’s fourth presidential bid and he better lose alone if he doesn’t pick one of them. Wetang’ula is said to be extending an olive branch to his former political foes and ODM rebels from the Luhya community to build a formidable political force to field one of them for the presidency. However, Corridors is told Wetang’ula is ready to support Musyoka if the two ditch Cord. Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi has also vowed to ditch the Jubilee Coalition and support Kalonzo if he becomes Cord’s flagbearer.

A woman MCA from Nairobi is on the receiving end. The lady, rumoured to be eying the Nairobi woman representative position, is reported to have fallen out with the majority of her female colleagues. Her colleagues were overheard saying nowadays she does not shake hands with some of them because she is so “special” and they are of the “lower class”. Those in the know say the MCA is so proud and full of herself that she doesn’t need the input of her colleagues to win the coveted seat.

Are Kisii MPs planning a mutiny in the Jubilee Alliance over a county seat in Nairobi? Well, that could be the case if anything is to result from a discussion between three MPs in Parliament on Thursday. The MPs were overheard complaining that as much as Jubilee is courting them, they will be settling for nothing less than one of the county seats in the capital. Besides promises to work for Jubilee, they want the ruling coalition to withdraw Nairobi woman representative Racheal Shebesh and endorse Millicent Omanga for the seat in 2017 as a sign of goodwill. Kisii leaders have vowed to form their own political party to use as a bargaining chip in partnering with Jubilee.

A former parastatal MD implicated in corruption has been on a land-buying spree on the outskirts of Nairobi, taking up huge tracts of land. The man, who is eying a political seat in the next general election, recently purchased 20 acres of land in Kajiado. Corridors has been told he has strong links to powerful politicians whom he runs to whenever questions about his scandalous activities are asked. His godfathers are concerned that his greed is likely to expose them.
