Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has launched a full blown offensive on Deputy President William Ruto on social media.
In what political pundits are likely to interpret as a supremacy battle between the two Kalenjin leaders ahead of next year’s General Election, Mr Moi has in recent day been posting disparaging comments about the DP.
The fresh hostilities started on Monday when Mr Moi, in a detailed post, declared that his political ambition is “unstoppable.”
The remark was aimed at the DP whose allies have already anointed him President Uhuru Kenyatta’s presumed successor in 2022.
The Senator, who is the son of former President Daniel arap Moi, further warned his political competitors to brace themselves for a bruising battle during the next general elections.
Six days earlier, Mr Moi had accused Mr Ruto on Facebook of trying to force “his people into one sack like potatoes”.
This was in reference to the DP’s efforts to have all like-minded political parties fold up and join the newly formed Jubilee Party ahead of the 2017 general elections.
Even as Mr Moi continues his onslaught, the Deputy President is yet to respond to his nemesis on social media.
