Speaking in Msambweni on Monday, Chidzuga said that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was merely a vehicle for her to get to Parliament. She added that her only interest is improving the lives of the people of Kwale.

“You should be concerned if I quit on you but not a party which does not even belong to us. ODM was just a vehicle to take me to parliament and now that am in, the important thing is to help my constituents,” she said as quoted  by Citizen Digital.

“When I was sworn in I pledged to work with the government and protect the Constitution. We will form a party that reflects the face of Coast region and when we do, the party will work with the government and not the opposition.”

Chidzuga is among three MPs from Coast who have shown affiliation with Jubilee.

The Kwale legislator got in trouble with ODM after she stated that CORD leader Raila Odinga would not make it to State House.

Kwale County ODM chairman Hassan Chitembe said Ms Chidzuga’s nomination ticket will be revoked.

Ms Chidzuga has however stated that she does not need ODM to defend her seat.
