A pastor has been convicted of stabbing and strangling his ex-lover to death after she threatened to expose their affair.

Paul Ng’ang’a of Well of Faith church in Kawagrare was found guilty by High Court judge Jessie Lessit on Thursday.

Lessit said circumstantial evidence showed Ng’ang’a stabbed Caroline Chajira several times in her face, strangled her using a wire and hit her on the head with a metal bar.

He said the attack led to Chajira’s death on March 9, 2012.

The judge said the nature of the attack showed the pastor intended to kill the woman.

Ng’ang’a will be sentenced on Monday.

Another suspect, James Mutunga Muia, who had faced the same charge was freed for lack of evidence.
