The BBC has made some shocking revelations about Tanzanian President John Magufuli.
Apparently, the no-nonsense head of state only eats food that has been cooked by his wife while in State House.
Call it paranoia but Magufuli has made a lot of enemies since taking power. His abrasive approach to handling things, and his straight morals have inconvenienced many people and he therefore sees the need to take extra care on his personal security.
In stark contrast to his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta, Magufuli rarely leaves his country. Since taking power, he has travelled out of Tanzania twice. Once to Uganda for Museveni’s swearing in, and the other time for a state visit to Rwanda. On his Rwandan trip, it was reported that he opted to travel by road instead of using the presidential jet.
Remaining in his country enables him to eat a home cooked meal everyday.
