President Uhuru Kenyatta is planning an extensive tour of Kisii County.
The four-day visit is expected to start on August 9 and is calculated to target development and political issues affecting the region.
This comes hot on the heels of a State visit by a delegation of Kisii leaders. Led by Kisii Senator Chris Obure and Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, the leaders visited the President last week on Thursday.
“Yes, when we went to see the President to discuss development, he immediately accepted our request to have him tour Kisii,” said Kitutu East MP Richard Onyonka.
Mr Onyonka, however, said no political deal has been struck between the Kisii leaders and the President yet, but the region will welcome all leaders and make a decision on whom to align with at the right time.
Elsewhere, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka held a meeting with Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula at his Yatta farm on Sunday.
This came after ODM leader Raila Odinga met Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi during their trip to the United States last week.
My Musyoka did not pick our calls but in his tweet he said: “In a consultation meeting with my brother and Cord co-principal, Hon Wetangul’a at my farm in Yatta”.
Mr Odinga is expected in Kenya on Wednesday
