Chaos ensued in Sabatia, Vihiga County when CORD leader Raila Odinga made his sixth stop in the area during his tour of Western Kenya region.
Mr Odinga was heckled by supporters of Amani Coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi who chanted slogans asking the former premier to support Mudavadi.
The locals also carried placards inscribed with the words,‘Kitendawili Musalia na Mpira…Goal’ and ‘Vihiga ni ANC, ANC ni Vihiga’.
At some point, Mudavadi’s supporters entered into a scuffle with Odinga’s security team that was trying to clear the road as he passed.
Some of the hecklers were roughed up and their posters torn apart during the confrontation.
The Opposition chief arrived in Vihiga on Monday on a spirited fight to contain the recent rebellion by leaders from the Luhyaland.
Addressing various gatherings, Mr Odinga reminded residents of how he helped them during his tenure as the country’s Prime Minister.
Though Odinga was shouted down in Sabatia where Mudavadi was once a Member of Parliament, he was warmly received in other areas.
