US First Lady Michelle Obama on Wednesday night took time off her busy time to join the Late Late Show host James Corden for a carpool karaoke around the White House residence.

During the session, Mrs Obama revealed that she hadn’t travelled on the front seat of a car for last seven and a half years.

With Secret Service agents following them closely, the two first sang to Stevie Wonder’sSigned, Sealed, Delivered, and later Beyonce’s hit Single Ladies.

Asked about what he would miss most when her family finally vacates the White House when President Barack Obama’s tenure ends later in the year, the First Lady said:

“I’m gonna miss the people. I mean these are people you see every single day, they help you, they love you, you know their families. To walk away from people you see every single day, that’s gonna be hard.”

Rapper Missy Elliott joined them partway through the ride, helping the duo sing This is for my Girls and Get Your Freak On.

The First Lady also talked about her Let Girls Learn initiative, which aims at promoting education for girls around the world.

“So much could be corrected in the world if girls were educated and had power over their lives. My message to kids is don’t take your education for granted because there are girls around the world who would die to get the education that we have,” she said.

Carpool Karoke has become a trademark segment of Mr Corden’s late-night television talk show The Late Late Show with James Corden and Mrs Obama is the latest big guest for the popular series.
