Blogger Robert Alai is facing criticism from a majority of his followers on social media for his recent updates which suggest he could be warming up to the Jubilee Government.
Alai has over the last few years built a reputation as not only a fierce Government critic but also an opposition sympathiser with ability to break exclusive stories via his official social media accounts.
Indeed, this stance earned him admirers even as it handed him several visits in the dock as authorities seemed to clamp down on his hard hitting scoops.
There, however, now seems to be a significant shift in Alai’s tone in the past few days, a move that had forced most of his followers (and supporters) to lash out doses of criticism.
On Sunday, Alai posted a message that suggested President Uhuru Kenyatta will easily defeat his political opponent Raila Odinga during the 2017 general elections.
The post was shared more than 200 times and attracted about 429 comments.
This was followed by another post applauding the Jubilee regime for signing multi-billions shilling business partnership with the Japan Government.
This reporting has led to constant criticism of Alai by his followers.
