Ann Wanjiru’s Land-Rover Freelander, was found in the border town of Malaba in Busia County, and one suspect arrested in connection with the theft.

Nairobi DCI boss Ireri Kamwende stated that the car was tracked to a guest house where it had been parked on Monday.

Reports indicate that police nabbed the suspect as he attempted to change the car’s number plates. Police indicate the car was headed for Uganda when they were tipped off by a resident who spotted the suspect changing the plates.

Ms Wanjiru was carjacked while driving into her home along Kibarage Road in Spring Valley over the weekend. Two men who were posing as guards are said to have struck and held her at gunpoint.

The gang is believed to have arrived early at the scene and taken the guards hostage before they changed into their clothes and waited for Kenneth’s wife.

She was driven to a nearby forest at 3am where the gang dumped her and left with the car, an unknown amount of money and mobile phones.

On the same night, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s nephew, Njoroge Muigai, was also carjacked and lost his car, money and mobile phones.
