Residents of Turkana County on Friday evening poured on the streets armed with brushes and detergents, ready to do a clean-up in preparation for CORD leaderRaila Odinga.
The group of youth, who are members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), used the brooms to sweep and wash the way to the airport as they chanted party slogans.
“We are all eager for the Opposition leader’s visit because he was one of the people who helped bring devolution to us. We are already benefiting from it,” one of the youth said.
Raila will visit the county on Saturday to close the Turkana festival which brings together different communities from the region to celebrate culture and diversity.
