Lawyer Kiprop Marimoi said in his urgent application on Thursday that JP was using its colours – red, black and green.

Noting the colours will confuse voters and the general public, Marimoi said it would be in the interest of justice for the tribunal to issue restraining orders.

The party, under which President Uhuru Kenyatta will seek re-election in 2017, has unveiled newly branded campaign vehicles and other material ahead of its launch on Saturday .

Uhuru said JP will be launched across Kenya to enable the country share in he and DP William Ruto’s “exciting” future.

The outfit’s slogan will be ‘Tuko Pamoja (We are together)’, he said, adding Kenyans will have a platform that embraces inclusivity.

About 12 parties have declared interest in the merger ahead of the 2017 general election set for August 8.

Several leaders across the political divide have joined Jubilee ahead of the launch that will take place on the same day as ODM’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Turkana Senator John Munyes and MPs Nicholas Ngikor (Turkana East), Protus Akuja (Loima), Stephen Kairuki (Mathare) and Isaac Mwaura (Nominated) joined today.
