Moses Kuria Accuses Raila of Dealing in Chang’aa Business

kurua_Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has again demanded the arrest of CORD leader Raila Odingafollowing the recent undercover operation by Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) officers on his company in Kisumu.

According to the detectives, after a two-weeks camp at Odinga’s company, Spectre International Ltd, they traced two drums of ethanol illegally being ferried to a godown in Embakasi where it would be sold to the local market.

“We had intelligence that ethanol intended for export was being diverted into the local market to make illicit liquor. This means the culprits never paid taxes. This is because ethanol for export is exempted from taxes,” stated EACC deputy CEO Michael Mubea.

Gatundu MP delved in the matter accusing Mr Odinga of participating in the illegal business and asked the Inspector General of Police to take him into custody immediately.

He noted that the product associated with Odinga’s company was propagating consumpion of illicit brew in the country, which the President spearheaded to eradicate after many lost their lives.

“This is the same ethanol that is used to prepare second generation brews that has finished our children,” Kuria said.

Mimi nashangaa mbona Inspector General anaogopa huyu mtu,” Kuria noted.

Loosely translated as: “The President is trying to work but mature people like Raila Odinga are travelling abroad to incite investors against the government because of Eurobond and corruption. This week in a Nairobi go-down, KRA and EACC nabbed a consignment of illegal ethanol belonging to Spectre International Company that is owned by Raila. I am left to wonder why the Inspector General is so afraid of this man.”

Mr Kuria divulged that the former Prime Minister’s business was illegal adding that it was surprising as Odinga was the first person to condemn the Government over corruption. He pointed out that he was capable of arresting Mr Odinga if the IG was afraid.

“If you are not able to do your job, I want to tell you that the constitution allows for citizen arrest. Mr Boinnet give me the job. I will wake up very early, go to his place, arrest him without any harm and take him to court,” Kuria mentioned.
