Kenyans in the West Coast of America are set to join hands together for a day of fun, networking and building of friendships during at the 42Tribes1Kenya event scheduled for Saturday, October 29th, 2016.
The event aims to bring together to one location all Kenyans living in the West Coast of America, irrespective of tribe and promoting an inclusiveness premised on Kenya identity. It is the first of its kind in the West Coast, and arguably in Diaspora America where a core theme would be to enhance and foster peace, unity, and diversity.
The event is the brainchild of Steve Mbugua (of CPR), Mukurima X Muriuki, Eddy Toto, Pastor Kinyua, Pastor Kimani, Saysie Wanji, Isaac Methu, Nelly Mwaura-Green, Moses Mugo and Michelle Washika, is a free and family oriented event. The Los Angeles Kenyan Consulate through Consul General Hon Maurice Nakitare will be co-hosting the event. Other Dignitaries expected to grace the event will be announced at a later date.
The food to be served at the event will represent the diversity of Kenya; being a mosaic of over 42 tribes. It will also showcase the versatility of Kenyans and their unique ability to join hands together for a good cause.
Each community is highly encouraged to bring a tray of its ethnic dish.
Kenyans in America Diaspora and more so in the West Coast of America are encouraged to turn out in large numbers to an event that will play to their identity as Kenyans and allow them to celebrate what it means to be a Kenyan. It would also be important for those born in America by Kenyan parents to witness to the truth the inspiration behind Kenyanism.
