Cord leader Raila Odinga was the king of the dance floor last weekend in Kampala, Uganda, during the premiere of Lupita Nyong’o’s new movie ‘Queen of Katwe‘.
Exclusive pictures obtained by Nairobi Newscaptured a visibly excited Mr Odinga showcasing his dancing moves at the event held in a Kampala hotel, much to the delight of his Ugandan hosts.
Dressed in an exquisite blue suit and matching tie, the former Prime Minister took to the dancing floor and accepted offers from Ugandan women for a dance.
Mr Odinga was accompanied to the exclusive event by Kisumu Senator and close confidant Anyang’ Ngong’o, Lupita’s dad.
‘Queen of Katwe‘ is a biographical sports drama film about the life of Phiona Mutesi, a Ugandan chess prodigy from Katwe slums in Kampala who eventually becomes a woman candidate master after her impressive performance at the World Chess Olympiads.
It was directed by Indian film maker Mira Nair with a cast that included Lupita Ngong’o, David Oyelowo and Madina Nalwanga.
The film was adapted from an ESPN magazaine and book by Tim Crothers and produced by Walt Disney Pictures.
