Nominated Member of Parliament (MP) Isaac Mwaura has criticised former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru and warned that she would fail in her quest to be the next Kirinyaga Governor if she continued launching attacks against Deputy President William Ruto.

Waiguru, who recently appeared before the Public Accounts Committee  (PAC) over the NYS scam where more than Sh791 Million was lost, linked the deputy president’s aide Farouk Kibet to the scandal.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Mwaura urged the former CS to carry her own burden instead of dragging others into the infamous scandal.

The legislator cautioned the former CS to tread carefully in the political waters or else she could lose her significance despite initially holding a powerful office.

Citing an example of how life could take a different turn, the legislator recounted an incident where Waiguru contemptuously treated him when they shared a lift at the Nation Media Group offices when the latter was at the helm of the powerful devolution ministry.

Mwaura divulged that he was heading for an interview and incidentally found himself with the former CS in a lift at the Nation Centre.

The nominated legislator, who is eyeing the Ruiru Parliamentary seat, claimed that Ms Waiguru kept on staring at him and he could sense that she was uncomfortable.

“One day I was in a lift with her at nation centre and she kept staring at me. I could see the sense of discomfort,” Mwaura told Kenyans.co.ke.

According to Mwaura, Waiguru’s strange behaviour was informed by nothing else but the feeling that she deserved to be in the lift alone.

“I was later informed at her ministry that she didn’t share a lift with anyone including her colleagues,” Mwaura added.

The MP stated that power is fluid and that one should treat people with respect irrespective of the position they hold at different stages of life.

Waiguru announced that she would vie for the Kirinyaga Gubernatorial seat on a Jubilee ticket in the upcoming General Election.

Mwaura, who was nominated to Parliament through Orange Party, recently ditched the Opposition and joined the newly formed Jubilee Party through which he intends to vie for the Ruiru Parliamentary seat.
