Tuju said they will continue to monitor the integrity of the process as voting continues in some counties.

Only Murang’a, Nyeri and Nyandarua are fully voting.

“If we feel that the integrity of the process needs us to repeat, we will repeat,” he said.

“Party officials and management have instructions to reschedule the exercise in affected areas and better manage logistics.”

Earlier, aspirants cancelled the primaries indefinitely in most counties following an acute shortage of ballot papers.

County elections board chair Bernard Lotole said the exercise was suspended until further notice.

In Kirinyaga county, voting did not take off as planned amid allegations that ballot papers had been stolen.

Jubilee Party county coordinator Martin Mwangi denied the claims.

In Murang’a, the exercise delayed after ballot boxes were reported missing in various polling stations.

A presiding officer at Ikindu in Maragua constituency said ballot papers were stolen from his car which was parked at the polls venue.
