Disbelief as woman roams Nairobi streets with placard looking for a husband

A woman dressed in a white wedding gown walking along Tom Mboya Street, Nairobi has set the internet on fire.

28-year-old Nyambura was spotted holding a placard showing that she needed a husband on one hand, while holding a young girl’s hand with the other.  The girl is believed to be Nyambura’s daughter, aged 7.

“Need for a husband pris.  Nyambura 28 years. I have a girl child 7 yrs” Nyambura’s sign read.

Nyambura even left her cell phone number for any interested suitors to call.

Her move elicited quite some reactions from Kenyans on social media:

 

This is a shift from the recent wave of job seekers taking to streets with placards displaying their qualifications in a bid to find employment.

In 2016, Elijah Yegon, an Economics and statistics graduate brave rainy conditions to advertise his skills to prospective employers around Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi.

On August 10, 2016, Patrick Muthomi pulled the same stunt along Thika Super Highway and was lucky enough to get a job as an accountant with Chandaria Industries.
