Governor Mutua calls for Prime Minister post

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua wants the post of Prime Ministers and two deputies reintroduced.

Mutua who has already declared an interest in the Presidency is touring Kakamega, a week after visiting Nyeri County.

He has been drumming up support for his Maendeleo Chap Chap party.

Mutua said that he will champion for an expanded government to cater for all regions ahead of the 2022 polls.

“I will champion for an expanded government. The posts of Prime Minister and deputies should be reintroduced,” said Mutua.

He was accompanied in the benchmarking tour by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

Mutua added that all presidential candidates should also be able to vie for other seats at the same time.

“It should not be winner takes it all. Losers should also be able to be elected in other positions, “said Mutua.

The two governors said they  will cooperate and work together politically and for governments.

Mutua said that leaders should not cling to power but should pave way for fresh blood.

“We insist wananchi want development and not empty politics that never end,” said Mutua.
