Kirinyaga deputy governor apologises over explicit video

Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri has apologised over a video showing him in a compromising situation with an unidentified woman.

Mr Ndambiri said that he was a victim of an extortion gang.

The video of the politician, that has since gone viral, emerged on Tuesday evening. In the video, Mr Ndambiri was seen being assaulted by unknown people alongside a woman who claimed she was married.

In his statement on Wednesday, Mr Ndambiri apologised to his family and Kirinyaga people over the video being circulated on social media.

“I would like to take this opportunity to get ahead of the video and story in circulation. Right now what matters most is my family and my people of Kirinyaga who look up to me for guidance. To them, I say sorry,” he said in the statement.

However, Mr Ndambiri said he was set up by a gang whose aim was to extort him. He claimed that the gang had been targeting politicians.

EXTORTION

“There are gangsters targeting politicians for purposes of extortion. I was set up by the gang took me through an agonising moment. And for the thugs, I say, your days are numbered,” said the statement.

He said that the gang would not deter his vision to serve his family and the people of Kirinyaga County.
