Death and Memorial Announcement Of Michelle Hebert-Odima

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the sudden passing away of Michelle Hebert-Odima 29, beloved wife of Austin Odima and loving mother to 1 year old Oliver Odima. Michelle was born on January 20, 1985 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Maurice and the late Debbie Hebert.

Michelle was a beloved daughter-in-law to Monica Walters Odima, Spiritual Mother of the Kenyan Catholic Community and Alter Guild at Holy Family of Nazareth Church, Irving, TX.

Michelle was sister -in-law to Kevin and Juliet Odima (International Harvest Church), Wayne, Laura and Therese Odima (Kenyan Catholic Community) and Reggie Odima of  Oblate College of Theology. Michelle leaves behind her beloved brother, Douglas Hebert who is the only surviving member of her immediate family.

Michelle had excitedly booked the Odima family to enjoy Thanksgiving at their home in Azle, Texas. A few days before Thanksgiving Day, however, she called her mother in law, Monica Odima and asked if they could instead visit her brother Douglas in Edna, Texas, as they both had the day off and she felt the need to visit him.

They both set out to Edna with their son, Oliver with a plan to return to join the rest of the family at Kevin Odima’s home on the same day. At Edna, Michelle enjoyed what turned out to be her last dinner together with Austin, Oliver and loving nieces and they all went to bed.

Austin woke up the next morning and found his wife unconscious and gasping for air. They quickly called 911 who came, administered CPR and rushed her to Victoria hospital where she was immediately placed in ICU in critical condition.

The doctors there discovered that she needed to see a neurosurgeon so she was airlifted to San Antonio Military Hospital. Michelle remained unconscious and in critical condition from the time she arrived and underwent numerous testing hour after hour.

Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated and she was placed on life support. After all the testing, it was determined that she could not survive. At 4:24 a.m. we lost our beloved Michelle.

Michelle was a true giver who loved and touched many in her short life. She will be living through so many people due to her generous organ donation, which she was excited about days before her sudden death.

During this very difficult time the family is anticipating large medical and funeral expenses.  Michelle’s sudden passing has left her husband, Austin alone to raise their son, Oliver. We ask for your help to ease their enormous financial burden. Michelle’s pride and joy was Oliver and any additional funds will go towards his college education.

A fundraiser will be held at International Harvest Church on Saturday 12/6/2014 at 6 p.m. Address: 1625 N. Story Rd., Suite 150, Irving  Texas 75061.

Michelle’s Farewell Celebration and will be held this Sunday 12/7/2014 at 4.30 p.m. at the Gateway Church North Fort Worth campus located at 4209 Basswood Blvd Fort Worth, TX 76137.

I love my life! I love my job, my home (though I wish it would clean itself), my husband and especially my little sweetness, Oliver! Life is good :)
