CORD LEADERS READY TO FACE EACC OVER KAREN LAND

BoniNAIROBI, KENYA: Coalition for reforms and democracy (CORD) will appear before the anti-corruption agency to shed more light on what they know about the Karen land grabbing.

Cord leaders said they were ready to face the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday to forward information in their disposal that will help unearth the truth about the ownership of 134.4 acres.

They however protested at what they termed as intimidation by the EACC after they were sent postdated letters only a day after they came out to mention some bigwigs in Government linked to the scam.

“We want to announce here that we shall be at the EACC offices on Wednesday to share with the commission information about the controversial land valued at about Sh8 billion,” Siaya Senator James Orengo said.

Orengo and Senators Johnstone Muthama, Boni Khalwale, MPs Timothy Bosire, Junet Mohamed, Joash Olum, Florence Mutua and former Nairobi mayor George Aladwa were addressing a press conference at Raila Odinga secretariat in Upperhill, Nairobi.

The leaders warned the commission not to take their statements for granted; saying action should be taken against those who participated in the alleged grabbin.
