Four Kenyan tourists drown in the Dominican Republic

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.- Four tourists from Kenya who came to the country drowned Sunday afternoon at Macao beach, in eastern La Altagracia province.

The deceased were identified as Cushs Patel, 31; Cajal Patel, 31; Shivang Ramanbhi Jayendra Patel, 30, and Yay Patel, 32, all natives of Kenya and US residents. The tragedy occurred when three of the victims tried to save a woman who was drowning.

According to the National Police the victims were vacationing in the country.

Civil Defense divers pulled the bodies out of the Mona Passage waters at Macao beach, known for rip currents and high waves.
