Kajwang’ spent his last function in Kikuyu inspecting roads

kajwng-KikuyuHoma Bay senator Otieno Kajwang’s last public event before he died of a heart attack was in Kikuyu constituency, Kiambu county on Tuesday  where the late senator inspected roads in the area as part of a Senate committee on Roads and Transport.

Kajwang’ had accompanied the senate committee’s vice chairperson Judith Sijeni who had led other committee members including  Kisii Senator Chris Obure and Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi.

Wamatangi received the group who were later joined by another committee on roads from the Kiambu county assembly to assess complaints from the residents over the construction of the Southern Bypass.

Kajwang’ told the residents that the Senate committee will be holding talks with the Kenya National Highway Authority so that the planning can be revised and some inlets and outlets be created.

“Tulikuja hapa kupambana na hii shida kidogo” Kajwang’ who was introduced as “mtu wa mapambano by Wamatangi, told the residents and caused a lot of laughter. (We came here to deal with this small problem, he is a fighter)

“Your senator has been complaining a lot about the situation on this Southern Bypass road that there is no inlet and outlet in this town, and the issue has forced us to come and see for  ourselves” Kajwang told the residents.

“When we go back, we shall hold talks with KENHA officials so that their engineers can redesign the road and locals can benefit from it” Kajwang’ told the cheering residents.
