Mombasa ODM chairman Kajembe joins TNA

Politician Ramdhan Kajambe has joined TNA after exiting his post as ODM Mombasa chairman over the lack of democracy.

“Kajembe’s defection to our party is a plus for TNA’s strength and unity. We have received him today and more are on the way.

‘We are telling our friends in the opposition that Mombasa will not be the same again,” County party chairman Matano Chengo told the Star on phone on Thursday.

“Kajembe was a great sponsor of ODM in this region and his exit spells political doom to our colleagues in the opposition. The party now has no office in Mombasa unlike TNA and URP.”

Chengo said the Coast region’s living and development standards have dwindled because its leaders have been “playing in opposition leagues”.

He urged ODM members to join “the winning side”.

“We welcome them since what they are remaining with is just the national office of a single person hand-picked by party leader Raila Odinga,” he said.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is ODM’s deputy leader.

Kajembe vied for Mombasa senator in the 2013 general election, but lost to Wiper’s Hassan Omar.

He is the former Changamwe MP.
