Update:Priscilla Gathoni of New Jersey lost her mother in Kenya

GATHONIS MOM PHOTOPriscilla Gathoni of New Jersey (formerly of Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maryland) has lost her mother, Elizabeth Kiarie (Formerly of Chattered Bank Nakuru), in Kenya. Gathoni’s Mom was promoted to glory on Thursday, September 4, 2014 after a long battle with diabetes bravely borne.

Elizabeth was born on April 12, 1947 to Clement Kiarie (deceased) and Priscilla Gathoni (deceased) of Nyahururu, Kenya. She was fondly known as Nyina wa Sussy – a loving and devoted mother to Susan Wanjiku, Clement Kiarie, Priscilla Gathoni, and Olivia Wangui. Adorable grandmother to Ivy Gathoni, David Newton Njoroge, and Vanessa Wanjiru. More than adorable great grandmother to Romeo Lemayian. Mom was dear and loving sister to late Olivia Wangui, late Michael Gachie, Margaret Wanjiku, Florence Njeri (USA), Nduta Kiarie, late Andrew Njomo, late Paul Kihika and Charles Kamau (Tarda). She was beloved Auntie to late Mbugua, Sammy, Sam, Richard, Gathoni, Jomo, Kabui, Mwangi, Wandia, Dennis and Priscilla among others.

Family and friends are meeting daily  from 5 PM at  St.Monica Catholic Church – located in section 58, Nakuru  – to pray together ,encourage family, celebrate a life well lived  and  make arrangements for the funeral.

The cortege leaves Nakuru War Memorial Mortuary at 9AM on Saturday September 20, 2014 .The interment will be held the same day at her home at Muthengera, Nyahururu.

The sickness has left a toll on the family finances.  Your help is greatly appreciated. Please reach out to the family with your prayers, moral, and financial support.
