Word of the Day:DREAM KILLERS~Fear

Is fear keeping you away from all that God has in store for you?. We all have a routine that we have formed in our lives and within that routine we find familiar ground. Many are afraid to move out of the familiar into the unfamiliar to archive the dream that God has laid in their heart. We are afraid to break the routine and break new ground. In our minds we are thinking, how will I make it? I don’t know anyone in this new environment! What if I fail? I have no experience and neither do I have the capital. Apart from unfamiliar ground, many are afraid to venture into their God given dream because the circumstances are not right. We want all the pieces to fall in place before we make a move. Reminds me of the children of Israel and the Promised Land.

The nay sayers were able to infect the whole camp with their negative report and that birthed fear in the hearts of the people. This was a whole new ball game for them. Remember they were slaves all their lives, that was their routine and that is all they knew how to do. Now they were being called to go in and fight and posses the land. Fight? How? These guys were not fighters and in their minds they had already lost the war before it even begun so what was the use of fighting. The circumstances were just not right for them to go in and take the land. Fear of the unfamiliar kept them from their dream. Just because you have a God given dream, does not mean that it will come to pass. You have to play your part or else the dream will not become a reality. Apart from Joshua and Caleb, this whole generation died in the wilderness.

The next generation on the other hand was not overcome by fear and they did go in and take the land though the circumstances were still not favourable to them. The thing you have to remember is this, it is not your dream, it is your God given dream and without God you cannot achieve it.You have to move away from the familiar by faith into that which God is leading you into. Just like Abraham move out and go into the land that God will show you. It is not familiar ground but God has gone before you. Yes just like the Israelites you may feel inadequate for the fight and the circumstances may not be right but God will bring the walls of Jericho down in His own special way if you obey. Break through that invisible wall of fear you will realize that there are countless possibilities awaiting you on the other side.

Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.” So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height.
