Ngilu joins ODM, Wiper, Ford K in coalition deal
The Orange Democratic Movement Tuesday signed a pre-election coalition deal with the Wiper Democratic Movement, Ford Kenya, National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) and other small parties.
The parties signed the pact at the Kenyatta International Conference (KICC) Tuesday afternoon to beat the coalition formation deadline.
ODM leader Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper party, For Kenya’s Moses Wetangula, NARC’s Charity Ngilu and TIPTIP’s Kalembe Ndile converged at KICC for the deal.
Ngilu and her biggest rival in regional politics will once again work together politically. The NARC leader had reportedly severed relations with ODM and entered in to talks with TNA/URP.
Reports indicate that coalition talks between Kenya National Congress leader Peter Kenneth, United Democratic Front’s Musalia Mudavadi, New For Kenya’s Eugene Wamalwa and Party of Action leader Raphael are in top gear.
They are expected to sign a pact Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, KANU is holding its National Executive Council meeting in Nairobi to decide on the way forward. TNA and URP were the first to sign the pre-election coalition deal on Monday.
