Word of the Day:Being a cheerful giver.

As Children of God we receive much from Him, not to keep it to ourselves but to give generously to others. We should remember that everything we have comes from God though; we may sometimes easily forget where we got our blessings from. We then end up being reluctant to give because we think that we will not have enough.

The bible encourages us to be cheerful givers, meaning we should not give out of necessity but out the love we have. ‘You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving.’ Indeed where there is love in abundance you give more. When you give, remember that God makes all grace abound your way and He makes sure He meets all your needs.

It is more blessed to give than to receive. Giving is not a one day event but something we are to constantly practice. It can be money, clothes, prayers food or even your time. Therefore, purpose to be a cheerful giver by using your talents and time to benefit others. Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7
