The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (cord) has opposed the request for the deferral of cases against President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto. Cord leaders Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula maintain that the Kenyatta-Ruto trial must proceed at The Hague, to ensure justice for the victims of 2007/08 post election skirmishes and the fight against impunity. But as Francis Gachuri reports, a section of cord mps have backed the deferral of trial against the president and his deputy, after informal sessions with their jubilee counterparts.
