If you have been in any forum where there was a large crowd of people, you may have experienced this at some point: if one person starts clapping, like a ripple effect every person in the hall starts clapping automatically. This is the same with making choices. Every choice we make creates a ripple effect on our lives as well as on the lives of others. Indeed the choices we have made throughout life determine where we are and what we are becoming.
The choices we make show what we really want, love and think. In Philippians, Paul urges us to make excellent choices that are made from a heart fully committed to Jesus. When love abounds in knowledge and discernment, we are able to understand what is good thus making choices on things that are excellent.
Excellent choices are proof of a life that is deeply committed to Jesus Christ that obeys His word and follows Christโs way. These choices have a positive ripple effect of filling our lives with the fruits of righteousness. Our lives are not made by the dreams we dream but by the choices we make today. Therefore, when making choices letโs involve the Lord so that we can make excellent choices.
” And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.โ
