Microsoft Picks Kenyan Adviser On ICT

Mary MwendeMICROSOFT has appointed Kenya’s Mary Mwende as a special adviser on ICT usage with an aim of bridging skills gaps among the youth.

Her professional skills and experience earned her a position with the external relations department as an administrative assistant. According to Microsoft’s website, Mwende, 23, who holds a Business Administration and Finance degree from the American University in Dubai and a tech enthusiast, was the only Kenyan who made to the list of 21 YouthSpark advisors.

In September, she was chosen to guide the software giant in rolling out special initiative programmes with an aim of enhancing young peoples’ access to IT and more so, develop their entrepreneurial skills.-The Star
