Tens of thousands of people have converged in South Africa for the Nelson Mandela’s official memorial service on Soweto’s World Cup Stadium.

The official service officially begins at 11am South African time, (12pm Kenyan time)

The crowds began streaming in at the 80,000-strong FNB stadium before daybreak, the AFP reports, and as the gates opened, they swarmed into the stadium, looking for the best vantage point on the sloped terracing.
