Caroline Mutoko robbed in Nairobi, lost jewellery worth Sh500,000
NAIROBI, KENYA: Radio personality Caroline Mutoko was attacked and robbed her valuables at her Nyari residence, Nairobi. Ms Mutoko and her three-year-old daughter were unhurt in the Monday night incident, police said.
A gang of about five scaled a perimeter wall, attacked and tied guards who were on duty at the compound before they broke into the house where she was sleeping. According to Nairobi Area police chief Benson Kibue, the gang stole household and electronic goods from the house. “We are yet to know the motive, if any but we are looking for the gang which escaped to Gachie area. We are after them,” said Kibue.
Ms Mutoko who works for Kiss FM was at work Tuesday morning. She could not respond to our calls regarding the attack. She is a popular personality in the country. Police said they want to know why they targeted her house alone given there are many other neighbours there.
The guards were yesterday questioned in connection with the incident as investigations go on.
