Ex-CJ Evan Gicheru found alive in the forest after he went missing

Former Chief Justice Evan Gicheru, who had been reported missing on Thursday evening from Aberdare Country Club in Nyeri, has been found.

Police searched for him overnight and found him on Friday morning in the forest within the club’s sanctuary.

County Police Commander Agnes Lihabi confirmed that Mr Gicheru had been found and taken back to the club.

Journalists outside the gate were however barred from speaking to him.

LOST THEIR KEY

Mr Gicheru is said to have left his room in the company of his wife at around 5pm Thursday for tea at the restaurant.

When they returned to the room, they realised they did not have their key and the wife went to the reception to request for a spare.

Upon her return, she found him missing and raised the alarm. Police were alerted and began an immediate search that lasted the entire night.

He was later found on Friday morning and airlifted to the Nairobi Hospital for medical check-up.nation.co.ke
