A certain newspaper advert showed three people waiting for a bus at a stage. Two of them were looking bored and inactive while the third was happily playing a game on an electronic device. The caption on the ad said, โDo something with your nothingโ.
What do you do when you have time in your hands? Paul challenged the Christians in Ephesus to make use of every opportunity for doing good. We can use our time constructively when we are waiting for someone or stuck in traffic by reading a book, listening to inspiring sermons or even praying for someone.
We should therefore make use of every opportunity we get for doing good to those around us. When we find ourselves in seasons that are tough and challenging, rather than focusing on the obstacles, let us look for our God-given opportunities for using our time wisely.
“Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil.โ
