Kenyan Gospel artist visit US to promote debut Album Hakuna Matata

Silas Mwenda,a gospel artiste from Ogopa Djs is planning to visit the US to promote his upcoming Album Hakuna Matata.In the year 2010 he released his debut song called Nakuhitaji which did well nationally and internationally enabling him to get nominated and scooped some Awards in the American music awards 2012 .
In February last year 2013, he travelled to Japan for two month tour which was very successful. All this came to his surprise as he has been able achieve so much musically with one single song more than what he expected.

After the success of his music in the local and international arena, Silas is now introducing his debut Album, called HAKUNA MATATA, which has been produced and mastered at Ogopa Djs, studios. The world wide release date is May 10th, exactly 12.00 pm sharp. It has a total of 10 tracks .He has given the name HAKUNA MATATA for easy branding and to reach out to his fans base includes lots of countries across the world. The songs are in English, Swahili and his mother tongue Kimeru. Songs in the album rotates and tackles issues affecting people’s lives, both in worship and real life in a contemporary Christian way.

As a way to give back to the society, Silas launched a charity foundation called ‘MY LAND MY LIFE’ in June 7th 2011 which supports girls from poor families in remote areas of Meru regions by distributing sanitary towels and underwear. Before, many of these girls skipped school and church services during menstrual period as they could not afford this vital commodity.
His USA tour starts early next month courtesy of Talanta Awards Africa and will take him from one state to another promoting the Album. All proceeds from the sales the album will go towards buying and distributing sanitary towels and underwear to girls from poor families in major parts of Kenya
