President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in Pretoria, South Africa Friday evening for a two-day visit.
The plane carrying President Kenyatta and his entourage touched down at Oliver Tambo International Airport shortly after 9 pm local time.
He was received by senior South African government and Kenyans in South Africa led by the High Commissioner Patrick Wamoto.
While in Pretoria, President Kenyatta will attend the inauguration of South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma.
South Africa’s fifth parliament, in its first sitting on Wednesday, elected Mr. Zuma unopposed as the country’s Head of State after African National Congress (ANC) won the national elections by a commanding majority early this month.
The ANC handed President Zuma a second term after securing 62.1 per cent of the national vote to control eight of the country’s nine provinces.
