Word of the day:Our comfort
Heartache is the worst of all pain because it is hidden away. Nobody knows when our hearts are wounded as life goes on while we are forced to keep a smile on our faces despite the fact that we are screaming inside. Whenever you see people around you seeming happy, do not be fooled; their agony is hidden from you.
We all hurt. Sometimes our hurts come from events currently happening in our lives and sometimes they stem from things done to us in the past; like in childhood, when we were innocent and helpless. The important thing is to know that God is always there to comfort us no matter how deep we are hurting.
The Lord Jesus was overcome with sorrow before his death and he pleaded with the Father. Scripture says that God sent angels to comfort him. God sees us in our hurting moments and rather than take drastic measures like suicide and drug addiction as some people have, we should turn to him no matter how bad we are hurting.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
