Contradiction:Kalonzo in China to woo investors while Cord creating political tension

CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has urged more Chinese entrepreneurs to come and invest in the country.

Kalonzo said Kenya has great opportunities of investment ranging from hospitality, real estate and manufacturing among others, adding that these and many other fields, if fully capitalised, will boost the economy greatly.

The Wiper leader added that Kenya’s hospitality plays a key role in attracting investors and assured them of his personal commitment to the same.

Kalonzo made the remarks while addressing the capital forum of World Eminent Chinese Businessmen Association (WECBA), which he is the honorary chairman, at the Beijing Conference Centre in China.

The Wiper leader applauded the social corporate responsibility by the association through China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) headed by Jennifer Lu, which in collaboration with Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation built classrooms and administration blocks in four primary schools in Kenya.

Kalonzo said the philanthropy mission by CYDF in Africa has seen 22 countries benefit and appealed to them to continue with the mission.

He urged the over 1,000 business entrepreneurs from across the world to continue supporting CYDF so that more children in Africa can get access to education.  “I urge you to continue with your unwavering support to miss Lu and her charity mission, which is helping many children access education in Africa,” Kalonzo said

The former VP also applauded the long cordial relations between Kenya and China since the first visit by Chinese President to Kenya, President Jiang Zemin in 1996.  He said this visit opened gates for both countries and since then several high level visits by the two countries’ leaders has been witnessed.
