“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24)

When two individuals (male and female) decide to get married, they also in away agree to the following:

1. Build their own family together
2. Help their respective families but focus less on them and more on their own family
3. Dream /plan or do things together

Well, there is a feeling among some men that by all accounts women do not leave and instead spend all their resources in building her father’s family. Here is what I have heard about some women but stand to be collected: May be it’s the other way round

1. They privately send money to their folks for various projects unknown to their spouse
2. They are more likely to listen and follow the instructions of their folks (Mum, Dad, uncles, siblings and what have you)
3. They are at home having their folks (mother, father, siblings) come and live with them. They do not want to have anything to do with their in laws
4. Their hearts are divided. They are more there (with their father’s family) than they are in their marital family
5. They work so hard in confusing their children to support them

We are talking about family life here. All is not well in some families. It’s like people decide to get married but in essence live in two different worlds. And so I ask: Who is telling the truth? Is it men or women who have hard time leaving the parents.
