Kenyan Diaspora in Namibia Boost First Lady’s Beyond Zero Campaign

Windhoek — Kenyans living in Namibia  donated sh. 1 million (N$ 100,000) towards the ‘Beyond Zero’ campaign.

The donation was presented to the First Lady by the Kenya Welfare Association Namibia chairman Peter Wamburi at the Kenyan High Commission in Windhoek.

The First Lady thanked Kenyans in Namibia for remembering their brothers and sisters back home who cannot access quality health care.

She said, “I am truly thrilled by your togetherness and thank all of you for your kind gesture towards the noble cause. It is Kenyans for Kenya.”

Presenting the cheque, Mr. Wamburi commended the First Lady for launching the noble initiative that aims at improving access to health care among poor women and children.

The chairman said Kenyan Diaspora in Namibia were touched by the First Lady’s commitment to the worthy cause. He lauded the First Lady for participating and completing in the inaugural Nairobi Half- Marathon and in the 42km London Marathon to raise funds for the campaign.

The First Lady was earlier conducted on a tour of the 6 storied Kenya House in Windhoek, Namibia, by the High Commissioner Peter Gitau.

The High Commission has entered into a tenancy agreement with Namibia Government Ministry of Veterans Affairs to rent part of the building at ksh. 10 million per month.-Kenya Presidency
