Today, I unveiled 14 new garbage collection trucks & one wheel loader to boost the city’s capacity to handle solid waste. This new fleet will enhance waste collection capacity from the current 900-1000 to 1200-1400 metric tones per day.
We are committed to maintaining a highly efficient waste collection and disposal system despite the large volumes generated within the county while upholding high standards of public hygiene. I call on all Nairobi residents to hold cleanliness in the city while ensuring that all waste is contained to avoid indiscriminate littering and dumping.
